I have 2 NC-300 receivers with different type paint.

One looks like a plain flat looking gray while the other is what I believe
is called Metallic Hammered paint.

Does anyone know the paint of choice for these.
Brand
Color name and model number

At home depot I could not find a match for the Metallic Hammered.
I did not look for a match on the other unit.

Thanks,
Ken

NC300s were either smooth or wrinkle finish, no hammertone.

Here is a good site for NC300 information.

I don't know of anywhere to get Wrinkle in the colors used by national. If anyone knows, I'd be grateful for the information.

This is hammertone finish

This is Wrinkle finish.

You might be right. I know nothing about paint and the Hammerd look sort of matched from
what I could see on the top of the can. I took the top lid of the receiver with me.
All I need to do is the gray area not the darker lower section of the cabinet on one of
my NC-300s. The other one top and bottom of the cabinet is gray or whatever that color
might be. Did not find a match at home depot.

What they did say is they could mix paint for a match. They also sell a device you pour
the paint into a small bottle that looks like it screws into a pressured device that turns
everything something like a spray can for your paint.

Just an update. A description of the device is here

They sell them at Home Depot and I would think some auto parts stores.

It looks simple and cheap and it would allow you to have a perfect
paint match made up. This would be good for the non "wrinkled" paint.
Maybe they sell the "wrinkled" paint in non spray cans? If so maybe a match
can happen. I'll find that out next visit to Home Depot or a Paint Store.

If I can't find a off the shelf spray can match I might goes this way.

I had Home Depot make me a matched paint and I used the Preval sprayer on one of my
NC-300. Came out pretty good. I am impressed. The Preval does work but clogs often.
It took 4 Preval cans to paint inside and out of cabinet and top bottom lid.
Thinning the paint is critical. I used a 3:2 ratio.

My other NC-300 has a different finish. It has what looks like a hammered look on the lid,
top sides and back of the cabinet. I could not find a hammered paint color that matched so I will
go with a satin acrylic for this. I am lucky the rest of the cabinet looks good.
This receiver has its side with a darker color with what I have heard called "crackle"
look. I have seen paint with this exact look at Lowes but most likely the color will be
the challenge.

Has anyone heard of using vaseline and a tooth pick to cover the front panal lettering
allowing you to spray paint the panel? When paint dries you wipe off vaseline.

Would be interested in any other ideas painting front panels.
