I'm redoing a Zenith 10A1 chassis and need several mega ohm valued resistors. I did my cap order w/o problems from Mouser but then found they had very few of the high value resistors I need. There are about 14 from 10-330 M ohm in the unit. Most are 1/4 watt. There is a 22M 2 watt and a 27M one watt. Obviously it would be nice to find one place to get them for convenience and shipping costs. Based on my searching that won't happen. I look forward to the more experienced here for help. Thanks in advance.

In many prewar schematics, the "M" after a value indicates 1000. Thus, a 22M resistor would be 22,000 ohms, or 22K in modern terms. For resistors 1 megohm and higher, the word "megohm" is always used; in later schematics, it is usually abbreviated to "meg". If you read the color codes, it will also be a big help. Try this link:

"Dogbone" types, and the early insulated types used by some manufacturers, use this code:

The colors have the same meaning, but are arranged differently. Dogbones have a dot for the third color, instead of a stripe.

I hope this helps!

Awesome Tim! I thought it odd so many values that large. Life just got a lot easier. I'm in the right place. Makes sense to as they use MMFD for pf too. I was just using the parts list on the schematic to order from as the unit is back together now. It works OK but I like it so much I want to do a more complete restore.
