I can't find anything either, but it sounds like a damper tube.

Have you looked closely? It may be a 6DJ8 with wear on the 8 making it look like a 3.

no it definitely says 6DJ3.thought the same thing but the 3 is pretty clear.

Didn't find 6DJ3 but you pictured a high voltage rectifier.. Should be similar to 1B3 or 3A3 with 6 volt filament.

I sent this thread to Tom, 35Z5. He has a CD which lists most all tubes. He might have more information.

This tube would have been used to rectify high voltage for a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) either in an oscilloscope, TV etc..

Someone at GE was having fun with the etcher, the only 6Dxx registered is the 6DJ8 already mentioned... GE registered the 3DJ3 on 8/25/69, I have little doubt this tube is anything else...

It's defiantly a oddity, maybe a collectors piece though not likely worth a great deal...

Could measure current drawn by the filament with 3 volts applied? 3DJ3 draws .3 amps. A tube with a higher voltage filament should draw less.

Search the internet for 6DJ3. Also errors there.

Uh, the tube number shown in the picture looks like a 3DJ3 to me.
