While we are on advertising items does anyone know a place that sells repo tins and signs of the old ads? I have seen a few but not many. I would love to get a few repo items. Just to add a little bit more to my shop.

You have to catch the stuff when it's available. Years ago Don Patterson had a small run of these lithographed metal signs made:

This one's original, 3 feet high, meant to stand on the floor:

And this little foldout is framed on the opposite wall:

Here's a Perryman brochure I picked up on eBay last year that not only advertises their tubes, but also advertises their display advertising signs!

This is my favorite advertising piece. It's a free stand up advertisement sign for Orchestrion horn speakers. It's complete and in beautiful condition. The photo, below the sign, is the signs manufacturer ID which is located on the back of the sign. I acquired this sign in the mid 90s by trading a Kitchenaire 5 Tube Radio with glass shelves for it.

I won a couple of very nice Metrodyne sales fliers off of Evilbay. Each sales flier has similar but different front sides and the backs are totally different. Both sets are shown below

I guess Bonzo, my Crosley PUP mascot, also qualifies:

Above article announces BONZO is for sale at Crosley dealers (illustration shows the larger papier mâché version of Bonzo).

This is my latest item. It is a poster of a tube and its parts. I made a frame for it since it is so big. Its 32x44 so frames are not out there. I have it covered with a clear plastic film for now until I get a piece of glass or plexiglas. The picture is not the best but if I made it lighter the glare would be too bright to see the poster.

Its interesting that this item posted by Bruce Webster earlier in the thread is so, um, realistic. Surprising for something from so many years ago.

It's certainly not the first piece ( pun intended ) of Vargas style cheesecake I've seen in advertising. Usually it's relegated to calendars mass produced for private enterprises. Since Pye was a rather large company i suppose it makes this item a bit unusual...and shatters the idea that the Brits of the era were stuffy and Victorian.

Her "realistic" accuracy could be that she's printed on cold tin. Sure beats them pictures of Nipper with all his dangly bits showing.
