Stromberg Carlson? I have an oppotunity to buy, and while I don't generally go after the larger sets this one has anice look to it. Any guesses on make, model and year? Attachment:

Thanks - I like those Chinese cabinets. I'll look through my SC books and see if I can find a match. The front looks like its almost one piece of curved glass. Adding a pic of the back - notice the depth of the crt neck protection. You can just make out a Zenith sticker - probably a service sticker. Attachment:

The front is curved glass. Watch that crt! It really sticks out. As you can tell, one of mine is necked, AND I DID IT!!!

I spotted a similar S-C in a recent trip to MA: The curved front is very distinctive. I was startled when I peeked at the back and saw how far out the neck protrudes. Phil Nelson Phil's Old Radios http://antiqueradio.org/index.html

Well I may have to run out and take close look. Funny, I showed the picture to my wife and she did not take the same interest I did...

That model you gave is for a Stromberg Carlson.
Anybody got any extra parts for these? Mine is missing alot. I have the Chinese painted one as shown. PM me if you do. This is not the right spot for talking trading, buying, selling. Thanks. Bill Cahill

Bill - will keep you posted once I know the model number. If it turns out to be too rough, knowing someone can use parts may prompt me to grab it anyway.

I'd put the date at circa 1953. The final configuration of Chinese Classic (1955) used a different, later chassis with very different knob layout.

According to my Sam's schematic, it's a '52 year set, but, likely was sold through '53. I believe David is correct. Bill Cahill Oh, Gregg, my pm's returned to you...
