Bob Shrader, a prolific vintage radio writer, passed away recently. He authored many articles for CQ and QST magazines. Bob was a shipboard wireless operator back in the 1930s.

I had some e-mail discussions with Bob about carborundum and galena detectors. Bob used those as "stand-by" systems in the early days of tube radios.

His book "Electronic Communications" is a one I'd suggest for everyone interested in electronics to have in their library. I have two different editions of it.

It would be nice if ARRL or maybe Lindsay Books would publish a book of Bob's collected works. I think it would be interesting to new-comers and vintage radio enthusiasts.

+1, that is a great book that is easy to understand... by far my favorite electronic reference book.
