Hi, Just spent a while browsing and can't find a schematic or data for a GE TC-2 (NOT Heathkit) Tube tester. Seems to work OK except for the line adjust being off.
If I adjust the line adjustment to give me the correct filament voltage the unit seems to work fine but line adjust meter reads around 34% vice 50%. I'm thinking it's a resistor that changed value. The unit does use a 171A tube for the rectifier. Will try a known good one and see if that helps. A schematic would be greatly appreciated! :!:

Thanks,

COrby

I think you're right about the resistor.

I believe you can check the 71A in the tester, as it's only used for leakage and line-adjust, not for the emission measurement.

Got it working! Looks and works great. Can't test modern tubes but I tested a pile of 4/5/6 pin while testing it. Main problem was resistors drifted. I did replace the 171A with a 1N4007.
I still would like a copy of the manual. The TC-3 manual I was sent helped me troubleshoot but is quite a bit different.
