Forum rules

The following requirements must be followed when advertising personal antique radio / TV / audio / phono items (such as discussed in the forums here) for sale in the classifieds forum::

  • Titles must START with : FS (for sale) or WTB (want to buy) or Trade or Free at the beginning of the title..
  • FS posts must have an "asking" price and offers may be sent by PM. Are you parting something out? ... price each major part (not things like screws and nuts)
  • There must be a location somewhere in the ad or the members profile (City & State or Zip Code are the minimum requirement).
  • Ads are limited to two per day, and may not be bumped sooner than 7 days after the last post to the thread.
  • No outside sales links are allowed other than to pictures of actual items being sold. No links allowed to eBay, Craigslist etc.
  • This is NOT a discussion forum. If you're not buying or supplying or suggesting a relevant solution, don't post - send a Private Message. Comments on pricing will be deleted.
  • First to post to an item for sale stating "I WILL TAKE IT" it is first in line. Subsequent claims will be followed in the order they are posted. Claims to "Take it" can be conditional on unknowns such as shipping costs.
  • Any "PM sent" posts without posting a reason for the PM will be deleted as they are meaningless to anyone else reading the thread.
  • Once a deal is made, edit the title to say so and the thread will be locked

If your thread or post disappears - read the rules again - no warnings or explanations will be given when threads or posts are deleted.

Assorted Carbon Composition Resistors

What you see is what you get. (Yes, I know CC drifts upward with age. Yes, they're probably near or just above their high spec limit. Still, someone may want them. If not, in the landfill they'll go.)

Free, just pay exact shipping from ZIP code 05451.

Lou,

I'd wanted to PM you re safe arrival of the mounted galena crystal but find your PM service is blocked. Tried thrice. Likewise your original post is locked by the moderator as a completed deal.

So here's what I was going to send you privately; it may be better for all to see`:

"Lou,

The small box you sent arrived yesterday in perfect condition. Thanks for shipping so promptly. I'm delighted with its content, and will write Mr. Hadley tomorrow.

Your attention to every detail is immediately apparent, and I note the careful placement of labels, the precisely cut clear tape on the clean, new box, and the nice custom made heat-sealed bag for the payload. That, and the carefully shaped and cut-to-proper-thickness foam over the galena crystal all tell me you are a true craftsman with pride in all you do.

No other individual or business connected to ARF has ever sent me anything so carefully packed and packaged. Most of what I've received consisted of recycled (~sometimes twice) old Amazon cartons or the like with torn corners, badly taped together, and inadequately padded within. I've received scarce tubes tested-good (UV-199 BBTs, first-generation UV-201 BBTs, etc. ) all ruined due to inept careless packing. You could surely teach most shippers how to do it properly.

Too few people like you are around anymore; please teach the young about putting quality in all things they do...

The altruistic effort you are making to properly disperse antique radio items at no charge is gratefully recognized here. When I hear signals coming through that detector, I'll be reminded of you. Again, tnx.

73,

John"
