That's my problem Brian. The Magnavox console is a Model 52F, chassis CR-176 from 1941 and has a more modern replacement changer. The 520170 changer was used on a number of early Magnavox units. I've been checking some thru google but no luck.

The service manual for that changer (520170) can be ordered from Steve Johnson.

According to Sams the book "Record Changers and Recorders" it should be a Seeburg model B record changer.

Thanks very much Ken. Don't have one so will be looking for a good drop-in replacement.

I have a slightly differnt model Seeburg changer in my Emerson ER-370 and I want to let you know that the tonearm is a bit on the clunky side and will not track at less than about 12 grams. On the bright side, the changer was easy to overhaul and handles a 6 record 12-inch record stack with no problem. The idler wheel has a removable tire that is easily replaced with an o-ring from the hardware store. If you want to play your good records on it, you might want to go the "resto-rod" route.

I've been looking for an excuse to use one of my Collaro models with the "finger" but been waiting on the right Magnavox. This 52F I thought about using for 78's only. But I have been thinking of ways to go stereo with it. But then again where to put it as I'm downsizing from the last downsizing.
