Quick question guys. I'm guessing the components circled in red below are bumblebees too or some type of cap? If so, for a value I'm getting, .047uf, 20% tolerance at 600V. Correct? Thanks in advance.

That is correct. And, they need to be replaced.

Known as "Gray Tigers". They're not as horrible as the original-style oiled Black Beauties, but they're suspect just the same.

Those are not the "official" Bumblebees which were black body with the stripes and were the OEM and catalog house lower cost version of the Black Beauty...both by Sprague and offered the same years for the most part.

Can you clarify that, Carl? Are you saying that Gray Tigers are Sprague? (Then which is the lower-cost version?) Or are you reminding me that some Black Beauties are lettered not colored?

Sorry,

Does that make it easier or are photos required also?

I didn't mean to irritate you.

I thought you were cryptically referring to the Gray Tigers. Strike out the bolded word and instead, it makes sense about colored vs lettered Black Beauties. I conclude that Gray Tigers were made by somebody else. Right? Remember, I started this when I commented about the variety of paper capacitor types in one radio. I thought there were three manufacturers: Sprague for the BB's, CDE for the Tiny Chiefs... so who was the Gray Tigers?

Thanks, Carl.

By the way, that's a beautiful radio and I'm envious - even though I'm out of space.
