Stein II, p189. This set has a unique way of showing the band on the dial scale. The back light bulb assembly is attached to the traveling pointer driven by the tuning cap. This light can slide out and in on this pointer and lights the band you are on, AT THE FREQUENCY YOU ARE TUNED TO. This means that the position of the lamp after being set by the band switch keeps the same position as the pointer is moved across the dial. My problem is, how did this work? I'm not sure I have all the parts here. The bulb ass. has a spring attached to the tip end of the pointer. I assume turning the band switch, which has a large pulley attached (with a piece of dial cord), pulls the lamp ass. down the pointer shaft to match the proper dial scale location. I have no idea how this was accomplished. Has anyone worked on a lash up like this? A really neat idea, but there's not enough indication of how it was put together. Ken

I finally worked that thing out. I was trying to make it complicated, but it was pretty simple. The lamp assembly on the dial pointer does not track exactly still across the band, but it was gee whiz back in 1937. Ken
