so, all the tubes are good, the plug and cord are good, pilot lamp is good, power switch is good, but no light-um up....new filter cap. r15 (power supply section) is only 2.7 ohms (should be 82), and r14, same section is 1200 which is correct. Ohms check across the power plug with switch on reads about 124 ohms...print does not give that value...Elements of Radio servicing says an AC/DC should be no more than 400 ohms there. Would r15 being low cause a problem? It is across the pilot lamp.

Just a bit puzzled with this. I'm sure it is some little thing.

2.7ohms is probably the pilot light or tube filament. need to lift one end of the resistor to get a good reading.
must be an open in the filament string somewhere

Hi

Sometimes an intermittent filament can cause tubes to start lighting and then open. Do you see the lamp flash at turn on?

You can check continuity of filaments by checking resistance between pin #2 and #7 on each tube. On 12SQ7 it's pin #7 and #8.

Ah...forgot about pilot light filament...should never do that stuff at night. No flash of PL at turn on. Will check filaments again.
