Ma: "Dear, this changer isn't working right!"

Pa: "I'll fix it...let me get my automotive grease gun, and I'll shoot grease all over it and that'll fix it ma."

We may laugh at this, but it really isn't unusual to find. Some people think that grease is a cure-all that will fix anything on these changers. I've found changers almost this bad! I found one that someone had took a grease gun and put a thick coating of automotive grease on the inside rim of the platter. 8)

That is how to lube a kitchen aid mixer. I have done a few of them. Yikes.

All that sloppy glop just makes things harder.
Backyard mechanics ought to stay out of some things.

There's an upside to this.If they ever run out of vaseline they know where to find some.

I think it is Crisco. Vaseline is yellow.

Nah, your monitor must be off.
It looks like vaseline, or some semi-clear translucent glop - WAY overdone.

No argument on the way overdone. And your are right, it is not Crisco which is opaque, but it is not Vaseline unless they have a white flavor. Phonolube is also opaque and that would be about $40 worth. It ain't lithium grease either. It really does look like the kitchen aid grease which is digestible in case the mixer ever leaks into your food.
