Gentlemen, I am re-doing a little 5 tuber, Crosely 56TC WC, I'm finished with the electrical parts and it works well, even picked up WWV. I'm about finished with the case but this radio case was worked on before and there are no labels on the front. Does anyone have a picture or advertisement of this radio. I could just label them Volume, Band and Tuning below the knobs but that might not be right.

You did such a nice job on that case, I'd probably just leave them blank unless you can find the exact replicas.
I've seen sets with generic decals, and in my mind, it takes away from the originality.

Here's a picture of one, right here on the ARF picture gallery (not sure how original everything is, though). No labels that I can see..... http://antiqueradios.com/gallery/v/Cros ... 3.jpg.htmlOther internet pictures of similar Crosley's (more specifically the 56TN), show no decals. So, perhaps there were none to begin with? With the Crosley name already on the dial face, there would really be no need to put a decal on the case, I would think. As far as decals for the controls, I would leave those off, too. Very nice job on the case, BTW!!!

Thank you. The case came out really fine. It had been wet and the bars were all out. Some loose venier. The chassis was rusted it spots. I really need to do before pictures on the beat up ones. The more I worked on the case I could see that the wood was good quality. There was a small cigarrett burn on the top that I could not quite bleach out. About 20 coats of laquer really shined it up. My wife won't let me part with this one. It's small!

Here is the black and white from Sams. I cannot make out any labels. I only have a Bakelite TA and it had no labels either. Good luck on the chassis. Rubber wire in mine resulted in a "ground up" restoration. If so on yours, watch for a gimmick around the oscillator. Mine had a wire wrapped a single turn around a cap lead. Good job on your case - looks nice.

I say trhe gimmick and preserved it. Yes I had a lot of rotting rubber. Replaced everything clear up into the IF cans. A lot of troube but I like small wood radios. Thanks for the comments.

I had Crosley 56TC that was in an unopened box (long story) and it had no decals. You did a very nice and faithful restoration on the cabinet.
