I am so pleased to add this receiver to my Halli collection
I did the normal re-capping & replacing some resistors and my radio works well but i still want to take out the dropper resistor visible on photo inside the cabinet (right) ..

Will want to repaint the chassis soon and have ordered letterset from Radiodaze :D

I even got this Panadaptor with this set and after replacing two valves - iam good to go

Will have to hunt for the metal "trimmings" on the sides of the S20R ... Iam thinking of using a srap sx28 side trimmings for this project

Dirk -
Your panadaptor may be a bit rare. I have never seen mention of an alternative color for the PCA-2. Both of mine, and all I have ever seen have black wrinkle paint with white silk screening. I'd be interested in any markings on the back of the unit. Some of the shadings around the controls cause me to wonder if this is a repaint job, or a photoshop gag.

Please replace the high voltage filter capacitors promptly, the power transformer is unobtanium.

Someone replaced the original electro-dynamic speaker with a modern PM type and added the resistor in the circuit where the field coil was.

Looks like your original power tranny bit the dust. Very common for these units, as they ran as hot as the blazes of hell.

Dirk-
I have just seen a Panoramic advertisement from 1946 that indicates the PCA-2 could be ordered with either black or gray cabinet. This color choice was previously offered for their SA-1 and SA-2 models before WWII. Your unit remains the only gray PCA-2 I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing a good photo with us.
