What a piece of scum -- stealing a recording of the 1948 World Series. My advice -- dude, stay away from Cleveland.

Great story--just read this AM in the Washington Post.

What if everyone were as diligent as Mr. Goldin?

I should have included this in the original post: Make sure you look at picture 2 of 2, and after looking at it, make sure you don't drool on your keyboard.

Honestly, It's just sad, a lot of people don't hold up any real values and seem to not really care anymore! We need more American Pride!!

No way - I can't believe that someone tried to sell stolen goods on Ebay!!!

I can't help but wonder how much stolen stuff I've bought from there - much, I'd bet.

I hope this puke pays dearly for his actions.

Perhaps this thread should be moved to the clubhouse? :?:

Nortronics, I believe you have things backwards. The man with the radios is the one that bagged the thief. He is the one that donated the items.

Ah its old news.

Here in Vallejo, all our city history/documents/ledgers etc are stored in the basement of City Hall.....Everyone who works at city hall has permission to enter the basement....thus all out historical city documents can now be bought on ebay....well if there is anything left to steal.

I went to urban ore in Berkeley one time years ago, I seen a Victorian settee set in there. Every piece had a tag on it, categorized and numbered. There was a description stating where it came from and that it was donated to the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum. That is strange, because at that time they would hold a sale every few years to rid the museum of things in no longer needed. So why would this be at a salvage yard? I talked to the manger and asked where the set came from...they bought it from some guy....I contacted the museum and newspaper....After that it somehow disappeared off the floor.

Its nothing new. The only thing new about it is, that ebay makes it easier to sell.

The big thing now are those Cash 4 Gold places.....I love the descriptions.....No Questions Asked...I guess if a wedding ring is still attached to the finger....They're still happy to buy it....
