Not easy to tell from the lousy photography, but it looks like they
got a siphon going through the tube taped to the speaker. Wonder
what frequency range they used? It's a real neat parlor trick!

OK, what is the deal, water flow modulated to the camera shutter speed? Whatever. Photographer must have been an 8 year old. No explanations and no comments posted.

Its a con. The water you see isn't water, its glass or clear resin - the trickling effect is just something atatched with very thin wires. Chances are the vibrations in he speaker is what's being used to make them dance. Take another look, the water flow never changes.

You can hear flowing water - but you can't hear anything from the speaker - that just adds to the illusion of water flowing ;)

Can YOU replicate it and post a short video? There appears to be a very fine filament as there is a very brief glint of something in between the droplets.

It appears to be an effect of the shutter speed and what ever freq they are putting thru the speaker. It only appears to be standing still. pattern changed too much when they increased the volume for it to be a clear resin gimmick. Could be fake but not as obvious as the winged man video.

brusspup had a very similar video on YouTube.

The camera was determined to have a 24fps rate so a 24Hz source was connected to a woofer to produce this 'frozen' effect. The frequency was then upped to 25Hz and the water seemed to move in slow motion downwards, then the frequency was dialed back to 23Hz and the water looked like it was flowing backwards also in slow motion.

Nifty optical illusion - the same idea ties into why one seemed to see wagon wheels in movies running 'backwards' when they were really going forwards at a pretty good speed.
