The first knob pictured is not a Crosley knob. At radiomuseum.org under Ernest's Crosley history I have a picture of the four different knobs used by Crosley from 1922-1926.http://www.radiomuseum.org/forum/crosley_radio_models_sources_for_the_beginning_1921_1930.html
Most likely your knob used the 50 series type knob which is the last one you pictured. I have 6 or so ACE V's and only one has the knob like your "middle" knob. That knob was a early 1923 knob and showed up on the Crosley V's from late 1922 to the middle of 1923 or so. Incidentally the ACE V I have with the early 1923 knob instead of the 50 series knob is questionable. It is a very nice set with paper tag and matching serial number warranty tag still under the lid. However the serial numbers on the tags don't match the serial number engraved on the back of the front panel.
So I have always wondered if this set wasn't "restored" sometime in the past.
