I am looking for the full round inserts that go in wooden radios. They have a grub screw on the side and will fit a variety of applications.
I am mainly interested in pre-made ones and have no desire to cobble something together and tap the side for my own set screw.
If you know of any place that sells them, thats great too. I have looked and cannot find a distributor for this particular item.

I have made these for myself using my little metal lathe. Mine are made from aluminum or brass and use a 6-32 grub screw.

The one you show has a ridged or "reeded" O.D. which is apparently press-fit into the wood. I can't do the ridges, but I do knurl the O.D. then use a dab of epoxy to hold them in place.

What is the O.D., the length, and the shaft diameter?

I have hunted for these for quite some time.

I did find a Vendor a while back , but cost was out of sight. Mn order something like 500.

What I have been doing is steal from a Knob that could be considered salvage.
Need to find some donor knobs.
I have even stole from the chicken head knobs. The Hong Kong ones with set screw sucks.

What I did buy was some Bronze bushings , but I had to tap the Screw hole myself.

Hope some turn up or a source that is fair priced.

Grainger sells these in brass and aluminum for pretty cheap.

Dick perhaps you can find them in Grainger's catalog? Link and part numbers?

However:

The OD may not match an existing knob and trying to expand the knob opening could be difficult.

The shaft couplings have smooth finish on the OD. One should be able to rough this up with coarse sandpaper and then epoxy the coupling to the knob.

Use the set-screw to assist in keeping them from rotating in the wood. Cut the set-screws a little long so they remain extended in the wood when screwed down.

If you have access to a lathe you can use old faucet shafts, they’re brass and they have the ridges. All you need do is drill through then cross drill and tap. You may not get the wall thickness from a standard faucet but you should be able to find something.
