Seller says made around the 40's. I'd say more like in the 50's with the tubes shown being 7 or 9 pin. Nonetheless still quite a looker. Even gets The Vatican.

One of my favorite radios! I had to have one, so I bought one out of the south of France about 7 years ago now. I was terrified when it arrived in a beat up box, wrapped in an old blanket -- but it made it ok! It's one of the few radios I keep on display at all times:

I tend to like mine more than the "white dial" one with all the knobs, but they're both beautiful radios.

They are a beautiful radio, what are they like to work on ? I had heard French radio build quality can be a bit suspect.

I had an Oceanic, not quite as elaborate as that model, but a beautiful radio none the less. The build quality was fine. A little simpler to work on than German sets.

$150 is actually pretty competitive for shipping from Europe. The larger tombstones I used to buy from France are now costly roughly $220 to ship. No, I haven't bought one in a long time... :)

A lot of these are being put on ebay lately with shipping to the US because one sold for over $1100 not too long ago. The next two brought $610 and $773. Those were all styled like mine. This one is different, I say it brings less.

Makes ya wonder where are all the molds today that were used to make some of the deco radio cabinets??
I place this rarer type radio $$$ way above the commoner Waltons which are overhyped anyways.

Well now I'm kickin' myself because there was one of these on Ebay about 2 months ago that sold for $40. The front glass was damaged. Still a great looking radio...

Wow, I didn't see the broken one. In addition to the broken glass, I think the base of it is missing, too.
