"CR" is really RC, Radio Corporation (of America). GE made the tubes for RCA. Brass bases with ceramic inserts were the standard manufacturing practice before molded Bakelite bases.

The "RC" logo is the pre-1923 logo used by what was to be called RCA. Originally, they were the RADIO CORPORATION of america. GE (in this case) and Westinghouse both put their logos on the tubes they made for RCA until about 1925.

Until the "Radio Group" was broken up in 1930, RCA made nothing. RCA was simply the distribution agent for GE, Westinghouse, and to a lesser extent, Wireless Specialties Apparatus. (WSA made only radios and parts).

Yes, at that time it was called just the "Radio Corporation." Everyone else was an outlaw (in their view).
