I just picked up this Philco Microgrid 390. Unknown working condition, cabinet is way above average. Anyone care to guesstimate a value? 1956, correct?

It looks like a Model 4160 from 1956.

Value of most mid 50's 21" consoles to TV collectors is usually between $25 and $100 depending on condition, including whether or not the CRT is good, Philcos are very common sets.

Someone who's not a collector but wants a cool set for a 50's room might pay more for that one because it's in good condition and has some style.

Sometimes your just lucky to find someone who will take one off your hands.

Value also depends a lot on your location, how many other TV's are available within an hour or two of your location, and how many TV collectors are in the area. No one will pay to have something like that shipped across the country unless it is a "must have" which in this case would mean they had the identical TV in their home when growing up and want it purely for nostalgic reasons.

Here in the midwest, it might be difficult to get even $25 for it. On the west coast it could sell for more.

An excellent product. The mid-tier 390 series chassis was actually better than the top tier, Miss America 440 for a lot of reasons. It will restore well and produce an exceptional picture and sound. TV 392 and 394 (24 inch) include the "Top Touch" tuning. Otherwise they are all the same. It is an easy chassis to work on and alignment, if ever necessary, is a 15 minute job.

It is a good looking TV set. Can't wait to see it playing.

Is this the one that is currently listed on Craigslist in South Bend? I'm very interested in the set but can't find contact information for you. Thanks
