not so sure i would call this a collection but here is what i have. i usually just fool around with radios.

I do not have a lot of phono's but here is one of them. I picked it up in Japan in the mid 80's at the base exchange. It was on sale for $1250.00, and had been in stock forever. Just cleaned some dust off it and listened to some Small Faces. It has a movable platter which can zero the record +/- 10 microns of absolute center.

I had an old Evinrude motor I was trying to get rid of and got offered this Early 70's Magnavox Console for it. Couldn't pass it up.

Turn table needs some work, but all in all it sounds good and is in great shape.

Well I'm new and don't even know what side of the atlantic this group is for LOL. The registration asked me what time zone I was in! But if anyone is around Pennsylvania or knows anyone around me I'd love help with my Zenith. I had a Philco but sold it because I needed the space. This one has M900P on the back it's 120V & 60 Hz & 37Amps.

I picked this up at an antique store for 87 bucks!

51 Magnavox Wedgewood

So the chassis needed a new cord and I replaced one tube. Looks like a CR321 AA chassis which I think is a 1951, but I'm sure the experts out there will look it up for me? lol

I sent the Webcor turntable out to an outfit in Ohio and had it redone...smart move on my part...that thing was difficult to work on. The unit looked to be an early style Webster model 100...no way to install the optional 45 adapt. over the arm.

What was all old and scratched is now better than new. I can't believe how good a job they did resurfacing the top of the turntable itself, and not to mention replacing and rebuilding all the mechanicals underneath the turntable.

I still need to replace all the caps in the chassis, and I need to recone the speaker too.

I remember as a kid we had a Zenith SFD220 console stereo...I believe it was a 1959 to 1961 era. It had an ivory colored cobra arm on the turntable as I remember. Sure would like to have one for my collection.

The RCA in the first picture is my biggest 6ft long and it is heavy, very basic with a BSR turntable but it has a great sound i paid $15 in a thrift store, it spoke to me

(like they always do lol)

1967 Sylvania Exponent 440-2 stereo portable phono
14-transistor amplifier has pver 20-watts power output. Acoustic suspension speaker enclosures. Garrard record changer with 4-pole motor and Pickering magnetic cartridge.
This is a very well built and heavy portable. I run it on a pair of Definitive speaker columns and it sounds amazing. There was a 12 transistor version with a ceramic cartridge
that looked identical to the untrained eye.

The last of the high quality portables, built to compete with the likes of the KLH sets. The control knobs and escutcheon are chrome plated and just beautiful

1953 RCA Victor 45-EY-4
This one was untouched and all original right down to the cartridge and stylus. It cleaned up like new.

It has a Push-pull 35L6 amplifier and an 8-inch speaker. I sent the speaker to have a whizzer cone installed to extend the high frequencies.

The original crystal cartridge had a limited frequency response of about 6-kHz. I custom mounted a Pickering NP/AC magnetic cartridge and a battery operated preamp to increase
the cartridge signal to the same level as the 1-volt crystal. It tracks a little over 4-grams and the sound is unbelievably good.

1957 RCA Victor 8-HF-45P New Orthophonic Hi-Fi Phono
This little portable has big sound too. It has a push-pull 35C5 amp running a 6½ -inch woofer and a 3½-inch tweeter.

1949 RCA Victor 9-EY-31 – The first portable 45-player
Built for RCA by Crescent Industries. Changer, amp and speaker are all stamped RMA 150, Crescent’s number. Three octal tube amp with 50L6 output and a 5 ¼-inch speaker.
This little record player has soul. The sound is rich, it actually has very good bass response.

1955 Motorola Hi-Fi Phono
The amp and changer are completed. It’s waiting on a little cabinet work to be complete. It has a push-pull 50C5 amp, 6½ -inch woofer and 4-inch tweeter.
It’s a very good sounding player with plenty of volume.

Early ‘60s Newcomb AV-10 Classroom Phonograph
This player uses an ultra-linear single-ended 6BQ5 amp running a 6 by 9-inch dual cone speaker. It has clean powerful sound to fill a classroom. 78-rpm records sound great on it.

So far, I only have two phonographs, but mind you, I was born in the early '90s, so I'm at a bit of a disadvantage here.

Here are my two portables. The first, a Decca "Livingston" DP-233 (circa 1957), I rescued from the trash man, and recapped it, but never touched the cabinet. Unfortunately, the detachable wrought-iron legs were missing...

The second, a Motorola 3-Channel SP-29E (circa 1962), I found at an antique shop while on a day trip at Block Island, Rhode Island. The owner mistakenly thought it was broken, and when I got it home, I realized it was a VERY, VERY simple fix. (Turntable screw head rubbing against the platter). Best $15 I've ever spent, by far! I just finished recapping it this morning. It is a POWERHOUSE!

1948 Howard Chairside, 906CS. The phonograph is a newer replacement VOM unit as the original
was thrown out years ago. I had the radio restored recently and it is nice to play records on it again.

Portable RCA Victrola, un-restored. Works nicely and used it this week when the power was out.
