Common sense is learning that there are consequences for your actions, and that you are responsible. This is exactly the opposite of what people are being taught these days. Instead they are taught, it's not my fault, somebody else should pay for this, and there should have been a warning label telling me that hot coffee is "hot."

They may be getting taught this line of thinking, but those with innate common sense know better regardless.

With a an inexperienced person. The Radio can be destroyed with a butane pocket torch with too much heat at the tip. They will get alot hotter then a 20-30 watt electric iron. Can be done with the setting on low.

I've seen my share of radios that had a belt clip that jumped off and went swimming during a customer's restroom visit. (the reason for a box of rubber gloves on the workbench)

Here's my take on the subject - it's simply an example of the "market being self adjusting". In other words, the reader is getting what they're paying for, or maybe in this case, much less since the information is so poor.

After reading too many posting from sites like that, I've learned to steer clear of them. I suppose that the writers for these sites are being paid, but not very much and for that reason, don't expect much from the guidance.

On the other hand, posters to the ARF, simply post to freely share their knowledge and to help others with the same interest.

Tony, would that mean you don't get much from something 'somebody else' paid for?
