Probably one of these. There were several different models.

Well, it's obviously from an RCA Senior Voltohmyst VTVM. Looks to me to be from a WV-97 http://antiqueradio.org/RCAWV-97ASeniorVoltOhmyst.htm rather than a WV-98 http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/rca_senior_voltohmyst_wv_98c.html, but I'm no expert on them.

Best regards,
Steve

Thanks, now for another question, is the senior meter the same as the meter movement on the junior? A forum member is looking for one for a jr, and I have one for the sr. This will be a difficult question.

Thanks, Frank

A quick check of the WV-77E Junior VoltOhmyst manual at BAMA shows it uses a 400 uA meter, RCA p/n 217925. A check of the WV-97A Senior VoltOhmyst manual from ebaman shows it uses a 200 uA meter, RCA p/n 59523.

On the other hand, a check of the WV-77C manual at ebaman shows it using a 200 uA meter, RCA p/n 213484. Does your Senior VoltOhmyst meter have any part number or indication of its sensistivity?

So it does! So I guess the question now is which model of WV-97 used a 250 uA meter movement? Just how many models of the WV-97 did RCA make? All I see on the web is WV-97A, but the manual for that says it's a 200 uA meter. Maybe the tape label is wrong?

That would be my guess, the person testing may not have had the proper equipment and/or ability to do so.

Aside from the FS being different, the wv-77 meter and cabinet are considerably narrower than the later Sr., don't think it'll fit. If you're thinking about just putting the Sr's movement in the Jr's case, That would open up another barrel of snakes.
