A friend of mine managed to borrow this Maxitone gramophone from someone (who didn't know much about it) for a 1920s-themed party he's hosting. Definitely gives it some good authenticity. Could anyone help me identify it for him from the photo? Model # and year, and any repair information. It might be all mechanical.

Maxitone was one of the more popular off-brand gramophones made in Britain, and they made both external & internal horn machines.
I dont know what model or year this one is, but it appears to be from the late 20s or early 30s, with a good quality Garrard spring motor (probably double spring), and possibly a rebadged Goldring soundbox. It will sound way better than any of Victor's pre-orthophonic models once the soundbox is rebuilt to replace the old rubber gaskets.
