I thinking of getting out of my verizon contract and go with a smartphone from straight talk .
$45 a month unlimited everything

anyone here have this if so how do you like it

I dont. Instead for straight talking I use Tracphone $19 for 60 minutes

I've been on StraightTalk for a couple years now. Nothing bad to say about it.

I find the contracts that people sign up for to be frankly shocking.

I still use an 8 year old "dumb phone", on a pre-pay thing with T-mobile, that I originally bought when I lived in London as a cheaper alternative to renting a phone when I visited the US. It works out about 10c per minute. Every few months I chuck another $50 on there and I can't begin to imagine how much cheaper it's been, after all that time.

Yup, simple phone for me too - Trac-Phone costs me about $30 every 2.5-3 months. I get double minutes for life and a $30 card gives me 300 minutes. I don't use Internet nor texting. IMHO, phones are for talking. Today's Droids and iPhones are nothing more than a Leatherman multitool. Nice but full of compromises. I refuse to be a slave to wireless plans and follow in the footsteps of others walking into poles, traffic, ignoring activities around them, etc. all because their precious techno-wonder demands their constant attention. Go visit a college campus and see the abhorid overuse of cell phones urther cramming our radio spectrum with nonsense, unimportant chat and downloads. I think the wireless phone plans make most of their income from school and college students. I tell my contacts to voice call me only--- I bought a phone to talk on, and not push tiny keys nor the need to learn phrases/abbreviations for texting.

I use a TracFone, am happy with that. But then, I don't use it all that much. If I had to use my phone a lot, I'd probably go with a Straight Talk. It seems to be like a TracFone for people who use their phone all the time.

My g/f's 13 yr old kid had a Straight Talk for a while over the summer, he liked it. He didn't have any issues with it, if that's what you're wondering about.

The main diff. between a Straight Talk and a TracFone is that with a Straight Talk you have to reload your minutes by the deadline each month, or lose service. With a TracFone, up to a point, its use as you go.

I have net10. I love it total worth it for me. To be frank Net10,straight talk, and tracfone are the same company. So there all the same company they why all the different names. GO for the one you like this is why I got net10 over the others,

Straight talk is only sold at walmart that goes for the refill cards also.

Net 10 and Tracfone cards and phones can be bought at almost all stores even small stores like local places.

Also if your in a gsm area and have a gsm phone that works with att or t mobile one you can by a bring your own card, This card net10 or straight talk is only sold online on there sites, How it works you buy the card I got this service and then use it in your own phone any type of gsm phone will work. But you must sing up or only use the unlimited plan. This is cool for about 50 bucks you get unlimited everything for 30 days.
