I have a Silvertone Model 1831 in what I believe to be original condition right down to the Sears and Roebuck guarantee that is still attached. I have a few antique radios simply because I think they are beautifull but unfortunately I don't know a lot about them. From what I understand this is a pretty rare radio? I am wondering if anyone can tell me just how rare and or valuable it may be, I am running out of room and may need to sell it.

Since none is answering you I guess I will chime in.
Kinda rare or not it is not a highly collectable radio and there fore not worth too much money.
I would guess at $100 on EBay or Craigs list,
I am sorry to bring you the news, But unless it is something people want, It does not carry a large monitory worth with it,
Peter

@David, Thanks for posting the picture! Beautiful radio but the dial design is kinda boring IMHO!

OK is it the big dog chassis of that year,
Well I bend a little as far as it may have some collect ability and may be worth a bit more than $100.
I paid $125 for mine and it had 5 of the original 45A tubes still in it,
So I will adjust to $150 to $200.
Still just not a real collectable radio,
Peter

Definitely. I sold mine for $475 about two years ago, and it wasn't even working or refinished, just a nice clean original full of cobwebs. My buyer was specifically looking for that model, as one had been in his home as he was growing up.

I also have a nice one restored and sold to me by Mark Oppat.
I paid more than $475 for mine at the top of the market but that included hand delivery to me in Florida
by Mark and the lovely Mrs Oppat. 6-45's are worth a big tad by themselves.
