I'm just trying to take an informal survey to find out what the highest cabinet number we can find on a Philco 48-2500 TV is.
This number is stamped on the upper rear edge of the cabinet, it may also be found on the edges of the various doors and maybe the lid as well.
My set has cabinet # 1342, I have a door from a junked set that is #483, we also have the numbers 13, 379, and 84 reported.
Join in the fun and post your number!

Must be Carl, maybe the four I already have are the only four here with a 2500?

As mine is currently in storage and not at home, I needed a little time to find out. 198

Hey Tim, so your TV is 198. Eric is creating an inventory - hope you keep it ongoing so's we can learn about the surviving TVs and details like the control door knob. Would be interesting to find out how many of these TVs were manufactured.
Someone told me a story that a Philco 48-2500 was in the White House. Like to find proof.

Hi Carl:
As I mentioned over in the restoration thread, the photo of the door with knob is not from my set but of one with a damaged cabinet that I parted out several years ago. My set has no knob or indication that there ever was one.
I seem to recall that there is a photo somewhere on the net of Harry Truman watching the election results on a 48-2500.
