Is this tube of interest to anyone? I think it's a big air-cooled pentode but I don't know what rigs use it.

Last time I stopped by a little antique store near me, the guy had 3 of these, very clean but of course I don't know whether they worked and he doesn't have a tester.

He had them priced in the very low 2 digits.

If there is interest I can check the next time I go by, which may be Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

I didn't see any listing in either of my Eimac books- one early 50s; the other mid 80s. Maybe the hams over on the amfone.net would know. Maybe some sort of special military tube?

Just a second source for a Penta PL-177A which is a pentode 4-65A, nothing special and used by Henry as a driver in an industrial transmitter as the driver among others uses including military for mobile use thus the WA designation.

The original tube was the Penta Labs PL-177A and this is a ruggedized version.
