I've looked at every picture I can find on Google Images and there's one that looks similar, but not the same. It didn't have the 2 black pillars like mine, but rather it had 4.

Post the model number. It will be on a label affixed to the back panel, unless it fell off.

Can you tell me an estimated value on it (I wouldn't sell it for a million bucks) I just inherited my grandfathers classic country collection on 33's and have spent the last 18/24 hours in the garage "listening". Started at $100 obo offered $70 couldn't find change or a $20 settled at $60. Let me know, and thanks alot for the info everyone!!!

It's worth whatever you think its worth.

That's a '67-'68 model. If you pull the back, there will probably be date codes on the output transistors and speakers.

As far as value? It's probably worth more to you than what it would bring on the used market. Yes, they are all over CL and ebay for hundreds, and even thousands, of dollars; but, in reality, these usually bring less than $50. Besides a few collectors, most people are not interested in them because they'd rather have some POS Chinese plastic shelf stereo system.

My advice would be to resotre it and enjoy it. An elderly couple at my church just gave me a Magnavox console from the same era and I'm going to try and fit it in the collection because it's too nice to part out or dump.

I think what you have is a 1968 Aegean Classic Astro-Sonic 100 Model. You should take the back off and take down the chassis numbers and maybe speaker date codes just for information. Since the cartridge supposely hard to come by there's now one available which includes the bracket. I believe you should just let it be. I don't think it will die any time soon. Looks to be in good cosmetic condition and you like it. Didn't strain your back moving it around? Enjoy it.

I have a Magnavox solid state radio wood cabinett with extension speaker from 1968 , the colours and desighn of the control panel are almost the same, mine is from 1968.
What Magnavox did was just use the unit from a console and stuck it in a radio cabinett.

What's the chassis number on that thing? R262, R264 something? They used one like that in a tuner with a 6" speaker attached on each end. And one with one 6" speaker attached, and one separated (remote).

That one is actually a little different than mine, Mine has a couple more knobs and the dial on the radio reads vertical rather than horizontal. As for value, hell yes, its worth alot more than $50 to me based on look, quality and sentimental value alone. Found it at a garage sale, the guy had a sign posted $100 OBO... Didn't have the cash at the time... Finally got $70 laying around and stopped by every day for 2 weeks NO ONE WAS EVER HOME lol I was determined to own this thing... I went over with a note to stick on their side door and sure enough there was finally a car in the drive... offered $70, she didn't have change and gave me one of my $20's back... Was very happy. I am completely if not overly satisfied with the sheer sound of this console... people are losing it now a days. I was raised with music that had that wonderful white popping in the background Thanks for all the help and info guys!

NumberMaj 1, i will have to take a look sometime, but the manufacture date is stamped on the wood underneath each cabinet.
The numbers under the main unit and speaker read as follows.

Yes, it's the Aegean Classic and they were exquisite. I would definately hold on to it if I were you. I've seen them in the original Magnavox sales literature and they originally listed for $695.
