Yes this is a before picture, every single resistor and capacitor has been replaced, every one. I just haven't taken any new photos yet. Any ideas on trimmer "L"? I'm assuming the coil on the back side of the chassis is the wave trap, right?

Seems one of these is for obsolete police band which you can forget about, other one to peak SW at 16.5 MHZ which you should be able to achieve with most signal generators, or a high harmonic modulated. Unless these caps are filfthy or shorted best leave alone. If you decide to clean them, count turns accurately to close completely, open

The police trimmer is N which I have identified, I'll leave that be. All trimmers are accounted for above chassis and on rear except for "L" which is under the chassis. Trouble is that there are 4 trimmers under there and I don't know which one is "L" to adjust for 16500 SW. The uppermost trimmer you see circled in the picture is the one I originally thought was "L" and fiddled with. I think I put it back to where it should be, I have it in the same position, but I'm not positive if it should be backed out or in one whole turn. Right now I think it's not too tight and not too loose, so I think that's the way it is , but again, not sure if that's "L" or not.

I have noticed several times that the police band adjustments on various Zenith radios (8s661, for example) altered the BC band slightly. It only takes few minutes . Brett

I got the IFs peaked but as far as "alignment" SSTRAN station comes in at 1060KC and weaker at 1500KC. A) way off B) Why is there a duplicate station (image)?
1500KC-1060KC=440KC, could this be the 455KC local IF frequency? Thanks Mike

Okay will do, might as well! Thanks for letting me know. Does anyone out there have a clue as to which trimmer is "L"? I don't know how to figure this out.
