I came across these on a recent expedition, at first glance I thought "hmm, a pair of Magnavoxes" on closer inspection I noticed the badge on the grilles said "The Fisher"

It appears one unit is the changer and amp and the other is the second speaker since it has no lid.

I opened the one with a lid and it had a Garrard turntable. They wanted something like $225 for the pair so they are still sitting there, but they are interesting.

Eric, that certainly does look like a Magnavox two-piece stereo. Maybe Maggie made them for Fisher.

Hi Larry, it looks like a Maggie until you open the lid, then it's all different, Garrard Turntable, the row of controls down the left side, wish I could have turned it around and looked at the Amp, no doubt a tube Fisher of some sort.
Possibly Magnavox did make the cabinets for them?
Did Magnavox build their own cabinets or contract that out?

Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't priced at $100, I might have been to weak to resist and brought them home.

School music and dance departments in the late 60's had these all
over the place. Especially for things like dances and etc. They'd get a
hundred-foot extension and run it under the stage from one side of
the gym to the other, plug them both in and go to town so both sides
of the gym could hear the music.

Then we got the bright idea of copping the sound system backstage with
it's three huge Voice of the Theatre five-foot tall and three-foot-deep Altec
speaker system and it's three-channel amp we plugged into the back of an
old three-channel Motorola console we inherited from somebody's mother -
and then just played the records in the projection, lights and sound booth
upstairs in the back of the theatre.

Never had to worry about not being able to hear the music in the gym after that.

In junior high - one of em got wet and fell apart but the amps were still fine,
We split up each of the speakers in each of the cabinets to only run one speaker
installed the other two amps - one in each cabinet - and ended up with quad.
