"Buries the meters at 4000 watts"... I'm no expert but if you put an honest 4000 watts into those speakers you would never find all the pieces. If I'm wrong please tell me.

Yeah, I don't know what they mean by "buries the meters". If it's 4000 watts for an extremely brief time...like in milliseconds...then maybe it's safe. Maybe. Seems like an awful lot of power to me, too.

The McIntosh MC1000 monoblock amplifiers are rated at 1000 watts RMS continuous power, so I suspect that they may be able to deliver 4000 watt peaks. They are monster amplifiers and cost about $10,000 each......and you need two of them for stereo.

Probably worth the money if they are really in as good shape as he claims. And yes, needing big amps is a drawback for sure. I no longer have the room, money, or power for such monsters.
