Hi Cindy,<BR>On the model 48-460, there are actually two separate dial cords. One is a loop connecting the tuning shaft with the large-diameter drive pulley. The other links the drive pulley to the dial pointer. I assume it is the latter one that you are having trouble with.<P>One end of this cord connects to the dial pointer. The other end has a loop (about 3/16 inches in size) that goes around the center stud of the large drive pulley. By the way, according to the Philco Service data, the overall length of this cord is 8 inches.<P>Hope this helps.<P>------------------<BR>Poston

Cindy,<BR>Glad I could help. You will note there are two notches in the outer rim of the large drive pulley. Both ends of the dial cord going to the tuning shaft come through one notch. Your cord from the dial pointer goes through the other notch, then loops over the center post.<P>------------------<BR>Poston
