It's a 1941 model 8-S-563. There should be photofinish on the grille bars, but hard to tell if it's still there due to the lighting.

More like a $50-$75 set.

I had one of these and used it as partial trade for my RCA 381 Duo. It amounted to $50 towards it.

Plenty of rubber wire to deal with.

Yet it must be said that this period of design had super cool dial systems. Reminds me of sci-fi and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. I heard a 12S at an auction once and was very much impressed with it's sound. I was the underbidder for a beautiful example. I ended up with a 1938 shutter dial instead. It's a hard knock life.
