I've had this radio for quite some time and I've always wondered what the 2 notches on the rear door are for.

Does anyone know what their purpose is or was?

To allow entry for a longwire and/or ground on the left rear or the lead-in for the optional WaveMagnet antenna on the right.

What? No pic of the front? The rear view looks super-clean. :)

That is radio porn if I ever saw it.

Bet it sounds as good as it looks.

It looked pretty much the same when I bought it from a neighbor nearly 20 years ago. A light cleanup with some mild detergent and a microfiber cloth was all that it needed.

Be careful picking that radio by the handle. The radio with batteries is heavy and if the handle breaks it will break the loopstick inside the handle. You don't have to ask how I know!!

Thanks for the tip.

Yes. I'm aware of the handle problem with the 1000, 2000 and 3000. I always support them from the bottom when lifting.
