Still probably 95% of the US population didn't lay eyes on a TV till after WWII, unless you lived in NYC, Chicago or a few other areas, wasn't happening...
The local Norfolk Va area didn't get a TV station till April 1950... Richmond beat us by two full years, their Ch 6 (WTVR, still on air) received the 16th commercial license issued... Huntington WV beat Norfolk by approx six months... The area I lived in WV didn't get TV till late 1952...
