I have found if you just need to touch up, Dyekem blue layout dye is a perfect match and it comes in a little plastic container with a brush. This should be done preferably outside, it drys quickly but has a strong odor. It is designed to be used on steel to scribe lines etc. and is available at hardware stores.
------------------
Take a good look at your Zenith cabinets. Where ever the bluing was splashed or dripped it bleeds out like crazy. It is a thin dye, they were never painted on the inside. The best match is Dykem layout dye either in the spray or bottle. It drys to a satin finish and even when touching up you can not see any difference.
------------------
It also comes in spray cans. The spray cans do a better job because Zenith never put it on very heavy. I have a 1937 Zenith chairside that was a original painted set. When I stripped it to refinish, there was a big blue stain on the top and the dye had run all down the side. It was in deep and not just on the surface like paint. Zenith used the cabinets with blemishes for their painted sets. I have refinished 3 or four painted sets and upon stripping them always found major defects. They probably set the seconds aside and waited for someone to order a painted on. If you can't find some blue spray dye, e-mail me and I will send you some at cost. Anyone find a product recently that works? I think the spray paint has been discontinued or not in any of my local stores.

I had bought the "Dyekem blue layout dye" at Graingers a few years back and it is a perfect match. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/DYKEM- ... Pid=searchIt is very thin so be very careful that it doesn't get through the holes in the front of the cabinet and drip down the wood...you will never get it off.

The can I have is about 3 years old, bought it from Ace Hardware. The next time I go in there I'll see if they still have it or yes it may have been discontinued...
