That is very sad. Hard to tell how much of the cabinet can be saved. The side boards look warped and might have to be replaced, not just reveneered.

I hope somebody rescues it. Not me, though.

If somebody gave me that one, I'd say to heck with the blonde finish, which I have never liked, and make it dark brown.

Not only is the condition poor but the seller is demented regarding it's value, opening bid is $250. I don't know if you noticed but the picture tube also looks like it has gone to air. The set may be restorable but it would need at least $200 trimmed off the price to make it even worth contemplating.
Best Regards

I would love that sort of challenge, but not for the price asked. Knock it down a LOT, and I'd be all over it. Cool

The seller seems to be aware that the set is seriously "deteriorated", but the opening bid doesn't reflect that. I find it interesting that the set had been used as "decorative" piece. Where? On the "Munsters" set? Very Happy

That 621 looks like it was attacked by Stukas...

Pass.

It would definitely be worth the effort to restore. I'd do it, but not if I had to pay 250 bucks!

Actually, the Munsters had I believe a 621 on one of their shows. It was in MUCH better condition!
That 7DP4 jug HAS gone to air. Good luck finding one....
If the price were rigtht, I'd also be after that set. I think the buyer is either nutz, or, a masichist, or, however it's spelled...... Embarassed

The guy used it to adorn his fine home? I can just imagine the condition of his living quarters.... Shocked

Anyone for blowing taps for that set?
Looks like a good parts set to fix others.

Well,

Maybe he is demented or maybe not. He has a bid. But it hasn't reached the reserve so maybe you are right. Wink (Sound like something from Tricky Dick Question )

"used to adorn his fine home..."

I'm betting this guy still has his Christmas Tree still up...from LAST year.

The cabinet looks possibly restorable. If I didn't already have one (which, by the way, I paid considerably less for than the opening bid for this one...), I'd give it a shot.

But the price would need to come down to something like $75.

CRT is definitely kaputt.

I wouldn't use that to adorn my barn...

I'd have a hard time giving $250 for it, everything that's unique to the 621 is in bad shape, the chassis is pretty close to the 721 and everything else is generic RCA.
OTOH if you had a 621 and a 7DP4 but no chassis at all then maybe it'd be worth it.

Craig, you are looking for the electromagnetic type trap right?
I might have one, i'll have to check.

Bill, the set used on "The Munsters" was a 630TS. It was used on the episode where Herman and Grandpa were in the lab viewing Lily and Marilyn talking in the Kitchen.

Wow, it actually has a bid. Never seen a CRT that dead before...

The Munsters may have had a 630 at some point but they definitely had a Farnsworth 651-P.
