Hello out there in Radio-Land. Does anybody remember Gabriel Heater the News Man back in the 40's. I thought he had a super voice, and as a kid growing up in the 40's when he came on the radio with the news he scared the day-lights out of me. Anybody know where i can find some of his old Radio News Shows?. Would appreciate any help.

I'm sure there's one or two floating around, but news programs are hard to find in good sound.

Zane,
Here's a link to some newscasts you may find interesting. Gabriel Heater is among them.

Hi Zane,

Your reply made my day. You are very welcome. I'm glad the fear is gone from the newscasts. I understand exactly how you felt when you were a child.

Best regards,
Dennis :)

When I am out talking to people about my hobby, displaying old radios or what have you, one of the names that always comes up is Gabriel Heater. Very well liked, it seems. When I hear his name I always think of some old cartoon from the 40s where they show someone warming themselves in front of a "Gabriel Heater"!
