Bakelite table radio from wartime Austria. Note the simple aluminum sheet metal plate which serves as a chassis (restoration hint: all the riveted ground connections to this aluminum chassis no longer make good contact). Also note the unique bakelite frame of the tuning capacitor. An interesting performance quirk of this radio is that it requires nearly a full minute to warm up when operating with ballast tube at 220 VAC (the filaments light very slowly; the ballast tube seems to hog all the voltage at first).
