In the Classifieds, For Sale ads must include a price and auctions are not allowed nor are commercial postings nor links to your own Ebay auctions, Craigslist postings or other online sites. Posting that you want to sell something is considered an ad in any section and not permitted unless in the "Radio Classified" section and conforming to the rules for ads.

Report them to the administrator or a moderator with the title of the thread.

The Antique Radio Fourms are run by consensus. Input from its members is always welcomed and is considered in all decisions made in its policies, however the final decision is that of the site owner. Moderator policies and moderator actions are only discussed through private message or email. If you have concerns, please contact a moderator or the site administrator. Moderation policy comments posted publicly will be removed.

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws and you also agree not to send threatening or harassing private messages or emails to other members regarding any forum activity. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. Discussion of illegal activities is prohibited and will be removed. This includes discussions on building illegal transmitters, how to circumvent laws, and the like, including theory and supposition.

There are special rules for posting an ad in the Classified Section. Read them first: http://antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=259925

All transactions in the Classifieds Forum are between the buyer and the seller. The forum administrator and moderators do not verify any information and assume no responsibility for items or money transferred between users. Each person must make their own determination of the honesty of any offer and whether they should conduct business based on the information they have.

Reposting a topic that has been locked or removed by moderators is not permitted.

Avatars may not be animated images. Avatars deemed offensive or in poor taste will be removed by the moderators without notice. Avatar images may not contain a photo of a person other than that of the actual user if the perceived intent is to mislead other users as to the persons identity.

User names may not be used with the intention of falsely misleading users as to the persons identity.

Users are not permitted to have more than one registered account.

Signatures may not contain images and may have no more than one link. Signatures may not be in all caps, all bold letters, all italic letters, colored letters or larger than normal sized letters. Signatures deemed political, religious, offensive or in poor taste by the moderators may be removed without warning.

Posts that have the primary purpose of being argumentative without adding substantially to a conversation may be edited or removed by the moderators.

Word censor filters are in place that remove certain words and phrases that are deemed objectionable. They work the same in private messages as they do in public postings.

Private messages (PMs) are special messages sent between a chosen set of users. If a private message is made public by one of these members, then the private nature of the message will be public. Please choose your words when composing a private message as carefully as you would if you were composing a public one. A maximum of 100 private messages may be saved for further referrals. Once you reach that limit the oldest message will automatically be deleted when a new PM is received.

Members that deliberately and repeatedly post topics in the wrong section, requiring moderators to move them, may have them moved without a "shadow" topic left in the original forum it was posted. Serial offenders may have their topics removed by moderators without warning.

There may be other rules or conditions to participation that are not explicitly written down that may be decided by the moderator team. They may send a PM or email about a problem, but whether or not they do, they have the ability to edit or remove posts as they see fit.

As a user you agree to any information you have entered being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the owner, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Forum Rules Violation Policy

The rules for using the Antique Radio Forums have evolved over time, mostly with public discussion, with policies that are enforced to make this a pleasant community.

There are a number of people that apparently are either unwilling or incapable of adhering to the rules, or else don't think they apply to themselves. Moderators are constantly having to edit, lock and delete topics because of rule violations, and these are usually from the same few people.

Posting material not permitted by the rules or other violations may result in a formal warning and a request to review the rules for the forums for the first violation.

A second offense will result in a ban from posting in the forums for 7 days. This includes posting under a different account as well as the user account of the violation. Posting under a different user name while under suspension will result in a permanent ban.

A third offense will result in a 30 day posting suspension.

A fourth offense will result in a 90 day posting suspension.

A fifth offense a permanent and irrevocable ban from participation in the forums.

How do I know if comments are deemed "political" or "religious" or "adult"?

If you aren't sure, then don't post it.

Who decides what is a rule violation?

The site owner and forum administrator, in discussion with the forum moderators. Moderators who spot rule violations may refer them to the administrator for appropriate action, but will not, by themselves, make the final determination.

If I really need to post something that I'm not sure is a rule violation, what should I do?

Send a Private Message (PM) to the site administrator with what you want to post for approval before publicly posting it.
