I JUST BOUGHT A RCA CONSOLE RADIO CIRCA 1936 THEY SAID IT WAS A MODEL 7K1. HOWEVER GOING TO ANTIQUE RADIO MUSEUM THEY SHOW THE 7K1 AS A 7 TUBE RADIO WITH A MAGIC EYE. THIS CHASSISWITH NO CHASSIS NUMBERS ON IT HAS FOLLOWING TUBE LINE UP 5W4,6A8,6F5,6F6,6H6,6K7 NO WIRING FOR 6G5 AND NO PLACE ON ESCUTCHEON FOR IT. ALSO THERE IS A SLOT ON FRONT THAT HAS 4 PUSH BUTTONS WHICH ARE CRUMBLING. I CANNOT FIND A PICTURE LIKE IT IN 1936,1937 MODELS. THE PUSHBUTTONS MEASURE.49 INCH HIGH BY .61 INCH LONG AND .53 INCH WIDE.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THOSE PUSHBUTTONS OR IS A TRASH CAN PROJECT

Hi Fred, welcome to the forum!

Pushbuttons are more of a 1938-1940 feature. But I don't see any '38-40 RCAs with only 4 buttons. I see some with 6, and some with 8. When I searched for your tube lineup, what came up were 1936-1937 models, none with pushbuttons.

I think you'll need to post a few photos. You can use the "Upload attachment" area below the text entry box to attach jpg files directly to your post.

The pushbutton questions depends on whether you want them to work.
I couldn't find buttons for this GE:

What you see is a wood block with saw cuts to make it look like separate buttons.

I've never known RCA to ever use anything other then bakelite for their push buttons except for some of their 1938 models. Bakelite generally doesn't crumble but tenite does. Maybe these are tenite push buttons.

Just look for the correct push buttons that go with your radio, tenite or not. Seriously, though, so much can be answered and cleared up just by posting some photos of your radio. What you describe and what we know are seriously conflicting.
