Need help on this one. The cabinet looks like a Wilcox Gay 4G7, I think. This radio has 8 tubes with a ninth one the eye tube not used in this cabinet just hanging loose.. The speaker has been hard wired, the speaker jack had a #37 tube in it?
It has 3 bands. Could not find on Radio Museum.
Tube line up is 80, 42, 75, 78, 78, 78, 76 and a 41 these are stamped on tube socket.

Thanks

No such model exists in Riders with that tube lineup whether including or excluding an eye tube. Sounds like you may have a 9 tube chassis installed into a lower tube count model cabinet, a bit of a frankinradio.

Thanks for your reply.
I would think that there is a Wilcox chassis out there with this tube lineup, but I don't see any.

It appears to an undocumented set.

If you need to, draw up a schematic.
One of these WG models may get you part of the way there.

Greg.
oh… If I'm not mistaken, the license plate is correct for the manufacturer.

Are the tube sockets riveted in? If any are held with screws and nuts they are probably replacements and the number marked on them may be incorrect.

Not all Wilcox-Gay radios are documented in Rider Manuals. So, it could be one of those. Just go to the closest schematic there is and you should be able to get most of what you might need.

Thanks Jim but the sockets are all part of chassis riveted in.

I have seen, over the years, 3 or 4 Wilcox Gay chassis, of that vintage, with that style of dial. However, yours is the first one I've ever seen that is complete. Hang on to that set........it is mega rare.

Thanks for the reply,
I have a schematic for the 5BA5 it only shows five tubes. I see from the rear photo that there is a tube to right of the #80, my chassis has a speaker jack there but it did have a #37 tube in it. My chassis could be a nine or a ten tube.
I'll have to see how this speaker jack is wired, my speaker has been rewired as a hard wired speaker not plugged in.
Thanks for the photos I think it is the same as the radio I have.
