Here's the escutcheon of a Silver Marshall "Improved Shielded Laboratory Model Receiver," more commonly (but somewhat incorrectly) called the 440-SG.

This escutcheon is somewhat unique in that it is flat-painted on the surface of a piece of sheet metal. Looks like a big, elaborate escutcheon, except there's not really a physical escutcheon there! Just the two little escutcheons around the dial scales.

How about this Stromberg-Carlson 734 from 1927, with the brass filigree pressed through the walnut veneer (by the way, that upper power supply chassis is made with 1/8" steel and weighs 200 pounds):

Good looker that one and a nice dial.

Never heard of the maker so must be pretty rare. Unusual for such a well appointed set with so many tubes to not have a line transformer.

Fairbanks Morse Chassis Model 8A (Console size-not tabletop, although I think both were the same size). This is a very large escutcheon with vernier tuning including a "Magic Green Eye". It is quite impressive when "lit up" with a vivid green and red colors indicating both AM and Shortwave bands.

Randix (out of Massachusetts) Novelty 1957 Chevrolet Radio Cassette player front. The headlights contain the speaker's for this Stereo AM/FM Radio Cassette player. The 1957 Chevrolet is very popular with Antique Car collector's. The small yellow lights on the metal grill light up a bright yellow color when the radio is turned on. The second photograph shows the back side of the radio with the handle on the top.

I love that Echophone 16 escutcheon, Ted! That's one of the radios I would grab without hesitation, if I ever cross paths with one!

Here are a couple Tenite escutcheons I have in my collection that are in good condition.

Gilfillan 13C8E, and Western Air Patrol 487.

Nice Motorola tabletop Model 68X from 1949. The abstract design over the speaker works well with the overall design of the radio.

A good example of a Hoffman Model A300 radio made in Los Angeles. I am not sure if the Face Dial is back painted, but that is probably the case. There doesn't appear to be any loss of paint so this maybe a process whereby the coloring is embedded on to the glass which is a much more durable process. Very colorful and impressive when lit at night.

PILOT tuning escutcheons. 5 turns for tuning cao 180 degrees. The writing between the the two windows is "KILOGRAD". The lower window is 500 to 1500, so broadcast band dial. Upper window 0 to 100, guess just for logging.
