Definitely RCA, if you look very closely you can almost read "RCA Victor" at the bottom of the dial, but the same set was also sold under their Radiola brand, I had one several years ago.

So it was apparently a brand new radio when the flick was made.

It wouldn't surprise me that RCA donated it as a promotional idea. :D

An RCA 65X2 was given to me when I was very young. One of the first tube radios I ever owned.
I couldn't understand why it hummed so bad even after replacing the filter caps.
The new caps would be destroyed.

I later found out there was a paper cap between the plate and cathode of the 35Z5 rectifier that was dead shorted.
Yeah, that will do it. :!:

My radio now is enjoyed by Steve the Dutch Rabbit. I warned him it wouldn't be pretty under that chassis after a young kid had his way with it :lol:
