I am going to start by saying that I have been working on old radios for almost fifty years, and I also spent a couple of years working in a cabinet makers shop in the late 2000's, long enough to be able to tell "factory" from "homebrew". This is either not homebrew, or it was done as a modification or one-off by a very, very talented cabinetmaker. The telltale discrepancies of homebrew are just not there. It looks, even right up close, to be factory built .... even as odd as it is.

Any factual details that anyone can supply would be greatly appreciated.

Either you love it or you hate it, but I haven't made up my mind yet.
If that was done in the factory, will we see some others, or could be a one-of-a-kind, designer's concept, maybe?
Maybe the bosses couldn't decide, either.

I see it has some of the Rogers Spray Shield tubes in there, and a nice project.Congrats.

Looks like it’s missing a piece of trim just below the knobs.

Thank you, but .... it's not mine and I have no plans to buy it. I am actively trying to reduce my hoard from a couple of dozen (down from a couple of hundred) to .... a couple.

cheers

Yes, you may be correct.

The only thing I've been able to learn from the model numbers are that is apparently built for export .... to where? ... no idea. Apparently there is a 663R1 and 663R2. One is table and one is console and they are from 1936.

If this is an export model, I’m guessing Central and South America. The cabinet has that, sort of a, festive/carnival look to it that I associate with South American countries such as Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.

For me the design is not too appealing

You could be correct. My thought was Italy, which would line up fairly closely with your thoughts. There are no "text" decals on the set, so no language to guide us.

I'm having a love/hate emotional conflict with this one. As much as I dislike the "circus midway" look, I (strangely) want to take it home .... LOL
