Hi looking for help on my new stereo cabinet, its a Sylvania it has a radio and turntable both work, speakers sound good overall in good shape. I’m looking for some general information such as year, where to find the model number, and if I should take the back off and dust the inner workings. There is a tape selection but it does not come with a tape deck (8track or cassette) how can I hook up a tape deck or a chrome cast for Bluetooth?

Looks like a 1966 model, maybe 1967.

The tape input/outputs were a dealer installed extra on this model. Sometimes there is a connection inside and the kit
just brings them to the back panel, not sure how this model does it. Take the back off and look around.

Thank you! I appreciate your response and help! I took the back off but I don’t see anything that points to where you could attach the deck to, of course I don’t really know what I’m looking for either.

Tape inputs circled - you'd plug in a Bluetooth receiver there (and of course set it to TAPE).

Awesome! I think I found what I need on amazon. Also do you know why they put foam around the drivers vs just going with an open box? I’m sure it has something to do with sound quality but it seems unnecessary and would make removing the drivers more difficult.

The "foam" is because it is a sealed air suspension speaker system. Sealing them separately instead of sealing the speaker enclosure also helps prevent acoustic feedback.

Thank you! Pretty new to all of this which I’m sure is obvious but I really appreciate everyone’s help! I’ll eventually restore the cabinet, but for now I’m just cleaning it up and doing any maintenance possible.
