I am trying to research a tube/valve radio which has a metal plate fixed to the back with the following info and serial number.
Licensed under patents of
Radio Corporation of America
General Electric Company
Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. Co.
and associated companies and under
Hazeltine & Latoup Patents by
Hazeltine Corporation
to extent shown by notice within

Serial No. GX132121

Just wonder if anyone can shed light on its age and what I can do with it. I have cleaned the interior of dust but the wiring is broken.

Thank you,

Might be more helpful to have a picture of the whole radio, not just the licensing plate.

Looks like CX to me, with a scratch.

The CX prefix means it was manufactured by Climax, which was one of the Chicago area independent manufacturers.

Didn’t think it could be a C so will go down that route - thank you. Front oic attached - but I haven’t found anything like it online. Am in uk so maybe that narrows my search so will broaden. Thanks

Oh wow, Give a search of "Climax Angry Face radio". Those are quite sought after :D

A list of the tubes (or valves since you're in the UK) used would help narrow it down.

Thanks for your help. I see the face now. Have taken pics of valves if anyone can identify the model

Silver M-8:

https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/silver_mf ... _oval.html

According to the ad on that page, it is the same chassis as the ME-17, so same tubes, except the eye.

In light of that info, this will probably help with a schematic. (second page)
